My story behind the curtains of Mental Vacation Hub.
During five months of heavy burnout, all my income disappeared.
Being quite new in another country, I was not eligible for any support from the system. I lived off the little savings I had - and then off almost nothing. When our housing contract ran out, I had no way to get another place for myself and my children. That’s how we ended up living temporarily with friends. My friend wanted us there, but her husband did not.
The pressure was immense. I mean, here it sounds like a clishé, but in real life, my brain was burning. It literally felt like it.
Most mornings, we (my girls and I) packed our bags at six, left the house before seven, and waited at the train station until the library opened. I sat there all day building the foundation of this project from a corner desk. It was cold, noisy, and exhausting. I was still sick, drained, and still trying to create something meaningful that could be a way forward.
I believe in what I am building.
The Mental Vacation Hub exists to give high achievers and burned-out professionals a way to breathe, recover, and regain perspective. It is born directly from my own experience, and it is needed now more than ever.
But the truth is that I cannot do it alone.
Not anymore.
To finish the platform and grow it into something that truly serves people, I need support. That’s why I’m reaching out to those who know me, have worked with me, and understand the kind of dedication I bring even in impossible circumstances.
